Canada Goose) and say that they are not liable because "how do we know you checked in your coat?" (when in fact it is mandatory). Then if you are a tiny girl like me, they will get their giant fat asshole women employees to literally grab you on each end, one on the neck, one on your legs and stretch you out like a medieval torture chamber. Then, they will literally drag you to the floor. If you tell the cops what they did in detail (which I did), they will tell you they have the right to do that because it's their property. This is not an isolated incident. Ask 10 people who has been to the Brunny's and I'd say at least one will tell you a story like this. You have been WARNED. Some of the most impressively stupid behaviour I have seen related to public drunkenness spilled out of those doors. The one time I ever went to the Brunny was for my friend's 21st birthday. His friends decided he should have 21 drinks for his 21st. Not sure he made it to 21 but I do know I ended up babysitting him in the back alley after he got kicked out for not keeping his head off the table. It was more than 15 years ago, so different ownership but the same problems. Over-serving? Most certainly. Second, it is absurd to suggest that the stretch of Bloor Street in the vicinity of the Annex (or any area, for that matter) should be reserved exclusively for students. The "secret sauce" that makes the Annex so great is that the many students in the area mix with folks of all age ranges, from seniors to thirty-somethings with children. Oh yes, I know the answer: none of you whiners can stand the peoples of color living there, or the shopping options they have in most of these places (like my former neighborhood of Willowdale around Edmonton & Van Horne in North York) so you move into downtown, hoping to make this an oasis of WASPY calm and order like suburbia. Well, guess what-you can't, because <i><b>this is the nightclub area</b></i> of Toronto, and <i>not</i> a strictly residential one; if you want a strictly residential existence, move to the Beaches or move to the parts of Toronto that I've mentioned. As it is, this area near the Brunny should be for students anyway (and <i>ONLY</i> students, IMHO.) I forget the name of the street, but a guy on his front porch started yelling at us cause he could see us from what I can only assume was his house 'cause he was on the porch. Emboldened by the beer, we yelled back. When he went inside, I assume to call police / fire dept, we ran over to the house and in his DRIVEWAY was a car. Again, we could only assume it was his car, but given the driveway was in front of his house, it wasn't a stretch. And then the pissing. And then we ran...far and fast.
