They fled Paris in 1940 after the first Curious George book was released in 1939. It has nothing to do with speciesism(which is not a word) and has to do with escapism. If this article proves anything, it's that there are too many PhDs being granted in completely useless disciplines - of the sort that would engage in a colossally stupid undertaking such as analyzing a children's book for signs of Objectivism or what have you - with the implication being inculcating kids in left-wing thinking is a priori good, or that concepts far beyond the understanding of ankle biters should be a concern to anyone. I'm eagerly awaiting the next humanities PhD thesis examining the underpinnings of speciesism in Curious George. Boys like Thomas the Tank Engine because trains are cool.
