Since the end of the Cold War, many civil wars have ended throughout the world. Remember Central America in the 1980s? There were guerrilas in Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala. Panama was invaded by the U.S. Now, those wars have long ended. In fact, worldwide, there are no international wars- active wars between two sovereign states. None. Not one. This is the golden age. Only by the beginning of the 20th century, could one expect to live to be over 50. Now in the 21st century, it is over 80. Also why there is more divorces nowadays. Spouses live longer.
