I very much doubt any story is used as is, otherwise Kate wouldn't have to edit anything, right? In this time, my boyfriend has gotten drunk, his mother has gotten drunk, his grandmother has gotten drunk, around me. I am awash in a sea of people who drink at dinner, daily, and drink hard. It was almost cruel going on vacation with them and being unable to partake in anything when everybody had 2-4 drinks in a night but me. Before coming into this family, I thoroughly enjoyed drinking, but wouldn't regularly get the oppourtunity to more than once every two or three months because I worked 7 days a week (11 hours a day mon-fri, 8 hours sat, 3 sun) and just had no time to go out, and didn't really want to spend my hard earned money that way. I don't know... booze can be such an escape, and people become dependent on it. They can't socialize without it. They can't sleep without it. They have to be numbed to be content.
