Lucid Cocktail and Kitchen opens Tuesday

We got a look at Moses McIntee’s new Lucid Cocktail and Kitchen (571 Queen St. W.) two weeks ago when the place was knee-deep in sawdust. Last Saturday, McIntee invited us to take a look at the finished place and to participate in a test dinner before the place officially opens this Tuesday. Amazing how much can get done considering the whole place was completely transformed in less than a month.

A test dinner is essentially a dry run for the staff to know what works and what doesn’t in preparation for the opening. The menu we were given is a smaller version of what’s to come. Take a look:

This is “Obama’s Brandy Buck”—the listed ingredients are Remy XO, roasted pineapple, sage syrup, citrus, ginger beer and “long form birth certificate” (whatever that means). A liquid nitrogen tank is installed at the bar to chill glasses and impress the hell out of customers.
