Hoarding Alert: Leyenda Tlacuache

While we wait for more mezcals to make their way into the LCBO, we should try to savour what we have, namely, Leyenda Tlacuache Organic Mezcal, which has been sitting on the shelves, without a lot of fanfare, for something in the neighbourhood of a year or so. It hasn’t got the savoury, chocolate-y taste of some of the more esoteric mezcals out there, but it’s still a perfectly respectable choice for livening up a margarita and giving it that signature earthy, smoky, depth of flavour that mezcal is known for.

This mezcal has picked up quite a few loyal fans in Toronto already and it sits on the back bar at some notable agave-centric establishments, including Playa Cabana Cantina and La Carnita. It’s a pretty smooth introduction to the category and, already attractively priced at under $50, it’s now even more of a bargain, on sale for $45.95 until March 3.

MsTruNorth – you clearly don’t know this city very well. Torontonians love their food and drink. The Grid DOES features on citizens quite frequently. I suggest you read a bit more before you run your mouth and ego (I might add).
