We asked the Toronto musician and founding member of Broken Social Scene what he would eat on a perfect day.
Breakfast
Huevos Divorciados from Easy Restaurant (pictured above)
“The huevos come with this really nice pepper jelly (an ancho jam that’s a little bit sweet), plus guacamole, beans, and a French baguette. The restaurant is the best version of a neighbourhood diner. It’s always busy, and the turnaround for ordering is always super quick: four minutes and your dishes arrive.”
$13. 1645 Queen St. W. #PRK 416-537-4893.

Lunch
Sage-and-brown-butter gnocchi from Marben
“The place is literally a block away from my house, and I used to DJ there on Friday nights. There are three things I usually order: whatever local, fresh fish they have that day; the John’s Burger, which has short-ribs inside the burger; and their sage-and-brown butter gnocchi that’s very tasty. There are always good tunes playing.”
$13. 488 Wellington St. W. #KGW 416-979-1990.

Dinner
Moroccan lamb burger from Le Sélect
“My girlfriend claims it was at her insistence that they put this on the menu because it used to be only available for lunch. It’s a very, very tasty lamb burger that’s spiced just right, and it comes with the best fries: skinny, skin-off, classic frites. I don’t venture out much but luckily I have all these great places nearby.”
$16. 432 Wellington St. W. #KGW 416-596-6405.
