OPENINGS & POP UPS
With an off-kilter Hollywood-style marquee in the window, interior décor outpost macFab’s (416-922-6000) latest pop-up. This limited-edition shop features wares from Canadian design and giftware distribution company The Tate Group, and is located at 761 Queen St. E. (just east of Broadview). A treasure trove of fun and modern design items, shoppers can expect pieces from from New York–based design collective Areaware, cherry wood “Cubebots” from David Weeks, and colourful iPhone docks by Jonas Damon. The shop is open daily from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m until Dec. 31.
The newly-expanded flagship location of Linea Intima at Bayview Village (2901 Bayview Ave., 416-780-1726) boasts 1350 sq.-ft. of lingerie and intimates from an international selection of brands. Owned by Liliana Mann—a self-described “bra-fitter extraordinaire”— the store’s “Elle Aime” line includes affordable bras, priced under $100, from on-trend brands like Canadian-designed Fortnight, the UK’s Addiction and Mimi Holliday,and Deshabille from Australia.
Travel essentials get a first-class upgrade at WANT Passport, a recently opened trio of shops at Billy Bishop Airport (2 Eireann Quay, 416-306-0505). Stocked with a curated and covetable selection of luxury lifestyle goodies from Montreal-based designer brand WANT, Les Essentiels de la Vie and WANT Apothecary, the two kiosks in departures may inspire habitual late-comers to get to YTZ early. Items in stock include Yumaki toothbrushes, Maison Kitsune music compilations, Leica cameras, and skin care products from Aesop.

Boxing Day comes early at Jonathan+Olivia (49 Ossington Ave., 416-849-5956) as the ongoing 50 per cent markdown moves up to 60 per cent on Christmas Eve, continuing through Boxing Week. Shop current designer clothing, footwear and accessories from labels like Acne, Isabel Marant, and the newly-introduced children’s collection from French-based label ZEF Kids. Sale exclusions apply to pre-collections and carry-over items like APC jeans and selected shoe brands. Post-Christmas, the store will launch their Jonathan+Olivia FAMILY2 t-shirt series on Dec.27 (6 p.m.–9 p.m.), an artist-designed line, a portion of the proceeds of which will be donated to Sick Kids Hospital. Christmas Eve, store hours are 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
