Don’t be surprised if the city seems a lot less hairy this summer, following the arrival of two new wax salons, where follicle removal—every pit, cheek, and cranny—is the only thing on the menu. Downtown, Queen Westers can keep their tat-adorned gams smooth and silky by stopping into Fuzz Wax Bar, and along the Yonge and Summerhill strip (where hairlessness is next to godliness), society gals get bikini-ready at Waxon.
Both salons use hard wax (less painful than those dreaded strips) and skilled aestheticians wax on/wax off in about 15 minutes. Prices are close to identical (a full Brazilian at Waxon is $43; at Fuzz, it’s $45), and both spots offer frequent-flyer deals and packages. Both are also highly testes-friendly, particularly Waxon, where men can enter through a discreet back entrance and indulge in pre-treatment nut-numbing cream to dull the pain.
