The cool kids congregate for LABEL’s signature luxe staples; Kim Newport-Mimran takes a tumble; but she wows with Pink Tartan's elegant and flirty spring collection.
Where all the cool kids congregated
At the LABEL show. Gliding along a runway bordered by branches to perch on polished rocks along the way, the models were draped in LABEL’s signature luxe staples, from the season’s ubiquitous sheer maxiskirts and blousy silk minidresses to a sexy slate-blue bustier and slouchy blazer. Bonus points for nabbing attendees Noreen Flanagan of ELLE Canada and The National Post’s Nathalie Atkinson, scoring the show with the everyone-is-obsessed-with-it Drive soundtrack and Washed Out, and a Plaid-sponsored after-party featuring exquisite Oyster Boy oysters.
Cutest post-show model accessory
A model waltzed into Pink Tartan brandishing a huge, half-finished striped lollipop, a prop from her appearance in the Korhani Home Rug Runway Show previously.
Cuddliest front row dress
The cinnamon-brown knit dress by Lucian Matis that looked like a small hillock of soft fungi had sprouted beside the runway.

Most impressive front row menswear
Joe Mimran’s mystery seatmate at Pink Tartan (we heard he may be an art dealer) sported an amazing outfit: slick suit, shirt buttoned all the way up, tinted Roy Orbison glasses, Beatle boots, a bizarrely long wooden walking stick, and a massive orange power amulet.
Show with the most must-haves for spring
After a few touch-and-go seasons, Pink Tartan finally wowed everyone with a covetable collection that pulled off the difficult trick of elegant and flirty at the same time. Stand-out styles include ruffle-bottomed coats, sailor-striped dresses, red silk ball skirts, slick sateen trousers, polkadot pants, knit tank-dresses, and leather mesh tops.
Best front-row footwear
Joe Mimran wore what appeared to be velvet loafers emblazoned with skull-and-crossbones.
Most supportive fashion overlord
Backstage at Joe Fresh, Joe Mimran was the uber-aww-inducing picture of a proud expectant papa as he oversaw his minions: “You okay? Everyone good? How are you?”
Cutest couple of the night
Adorable gajillionaire nerd Galen Weston and his insanely chic, beautiful wife.
Most classy recovery
Veteran model Yasmin Warsame stomped it out on the Joe Fresh runway, unfazed by her widely tweeted fall during the Sears show. She even took the tiniest faux tumble by the pit, showing an admirable sense of humor. (Hopefully Kim Newport-Mimran was able to laugh off her own post-bow fall, which drew audible gasps from half the audience.)
