The greatest of all shopping days is upon us, and here’s a list of the best deals at some of Toronto’s favourite stores.
CENTRAL
A one-stop fashion stop, Corbo Studio (162 Cumberland St., 416-966-8784) will open its doors on Boxing Day offering all fall/winter 2012 inventory at major discounts. Accessories will be discounted 30 to 50 per cent, and some finds will be scored at 70 per cent off. Their collection of women’s ready-to-wear runs the spectrum from minimalist to feminine: the range of international brands includes Acne, Filippa K, Malene Birger, Seventy, Judith & Charles, and Twenty8Twelve. The shoe collection features Michael Kors, Jean Michel Cazabat, Ash, and Brazil’s inventive shoe brand Melissa, which are made of recycled plastic. The store is open Boxing Day from 9:30 a.m.–6 p.m. The sale continues through the week.

Although the sale continues through Boxing Week, there will be no exclusions for one day only at the Rac Boutique (124 Cumberland St., 647-352-4433) Boxing Day Sale on Dec. 26. From 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., receive between 50 – 70 per cent off the shop’s entire fall collection of cutting edge labels, including jewellery and underwear. Brands include both emerging and established labels like Markus Lupfer, Mara Hoffman, Vivienne Westwood Anglomania, Eternal Child and Toronto’s own Rita Liefhebber. TNT gives good sale. For two days only (Dec. 26 and 27), the company’s trio of stores are offering up to 70 per cent off all sale items, as well as special promotions on all regular-priced merchandise. The go-to for a stellar mix of over 350 global and local designers—including shoes and accessories for both women and men—the shops stock everything from Alexander Wang to Isabel Marant to local designer brand Greta Constantine. Hazelton Lanes (87 Avenue Rd.) is the location of both TNT’s WOMAN (416-975-1810) and MAN (416-972-1593) boutiques, which are open 10 a.m.–8 p.m. on Dec. 26, and 10 a.m.–7 p.m. on Dec. 27. TNT’s uptown location (388-392 Eglinton Ave. W., 416-481-5550) is open from 10 a.m.–7 p.m.
If you’re waiting at the door at 8 a.m. Dec. 26, you stand a chance to score one of Over The Rainbow’s (101 Yorkville Ave., 416-967-7448) door-crasher specials starting at $5. Otherwise, snap up something from the famed denim emporium’s wide range of stock (which includes coloured, coated/waxed, metallic and printed jeans) at discounts of up to 50 per cent. The markdowns also extend to the seasonal collection of tops, sweaters, jackets, accessories, and shoes for men and women, while quantities last. NB: Canada Goose is excluded from the sale.
Take 20 per cent off the cost of lenses at Cutler and Gross (84 Yorkville Ave., 416-966-5149) on Dec. 27-29. Although the cult status frames by the British eyewear company never go on sale, we’ll take something over nothing. Open 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Devotees of Pink Tartan’s brand of sophisticated design and lifestyle concept will welcome the flagship store’s (77 Yorkville Ave., 416-967-7770) Boxing Day Sale, which offers up to 70 per cent off select in-store merchandise. Open from 8 a.m.–8 p.m., expect a mix of discounts on items ranging from designer Kimberley Newport-Mimran’s own designer collection, and her showcase collection of objects and items from global design peers. Exclusions include Rochas footwear, Mrs. Strong stationery, Olatz pyjamas, Mark Cross handbags, Thierry Lasry sunglasses, and Church’s footwear.
Donnell Enns’ expertly curated buy of men’s wear from brands like Levis Made & Crafted, LVC, Rag & Bone, Kin, United, Eastland, Fjall Raven, Wings & Horns, Garbstore, Oliver Spencer, and Penfield, are discounted 20-60 percent at the Uncle Otis (26 Bellair St., 416-920-2281) Boxing Day sale. Exclusions: accessories, watches and bags. Open 10 a.m.–7 p.m. on Dec. 26, the sale continues through the week (when regular hours apply), and online at their web store, however quantities are limited.
From Dec. 26-31, MOON is having boxing week sale at their pop-up shop on Bloor (110 Bloor St. W.) and online at moonapparel.ca. Find the entire collection of affordable on-trend design marked down 50 per cent. Regular store hours apply.
Capezio Shoes (70 Bloor St. W., 416-920-1006) offers multiple Boxing Day deals at all seven of its GTA-wide locations. Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the shop is holding a two-day Boxing Day event. On Dec. 26 and 27, save the tax on all regular-priced merchandise, get 15 per off all regular-priced Sorel and UGG Australia, and $20 off all Blundstones. Until Jan. 15, Capezio’s Fall/Winter 2012 is discounted up to 60 per cent off. For Boxing Day only, The Detox Market (367 King St. W., 416-548-9879) a beauty and health pop-up shop that specializes in premium eco-friendly, toxin-free products from skincare to nail polish to teas, holds a storewide sale of 20 per cent off its entire selection of natural goodies, including Belmonte juices. Gotstyle (62 Bathurst St., 416-260-9696) covers a lot of fashion territory with its mix of casual, business, and social attire for the style-conscious man. For the first time ever, this menswear destination puts all men’s current and designer collections on sale at discounts of 30-40 per cent off. Over 26 brands, including John Varvatos, Gsus, Cerutti 1881, Johnny Love, Moods of Norway, Psycho Bunny and Ted Baker are represented. Boxing Day hours are 10a.m.–6 p.m. As well, discounts of 50-70 per cent off will apply at their new Distillery District store.
For Boxing Day, the unique clothing store/coffee shop that is LOST & FOUND (1255 Dundas St. W., 647-348-2810) discounts its women’s collection 50 per cent and its men’s groupings by 30 per cent. Its international showcase of lines includes many U.S.-based brands and designer collections from Portland to Brooklyn. Find all The Hill-Side collection discounted at 30 per cent, men’s Unis pants at $138 (reg. $198) and those In God We Trust shirts you were eyeing priced at $125 (reg. $250). To sweeten the deal, the shop will be offering free Americanos at this one-day sale that runs from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Exclusions to the sale are accessories and footwear. Comrags opens at 10 a.m. on Dec. 27 for the first Boxing Day sale in its new digs at 812 Dundas St. W. (416-360-7249). Receive 30 or 50 per cent off the Fall/Winter 2012 collection of indispensible dresses and separates of this iconic Canadian designer label (holiday wear and basics excluded). Find half-price discounts on brands like Reigning Champ, Folk and Woolrich parkas from 11 a.m.–7 p.m., and return for Boxing Week markdowns of 30 per cent off.
Head to the Junction’s Beau & Bauble (3092 Dundas St. W. 416-904-6136) for a Boxing Day Sale that discounts all clothing (some denim brands excepted) to half-off regular price. Also on offer is a buy-one-get-one-half-price on its selection of deluxe trapper hats, and all seasonal ornaments and cards will be slashed to clearance prices. Oh, and free gifts will be given out with all purchases. Boxing Day hours are 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
Scout (405 Roncesvalles Ave., 416-546-6922) opens Dec. 27 (11 a.m.–7 p.m.) for a Boxing Week sale that runs through Jan. 2. The eclectic giftware boutique, which specializes in Canadian design with its mix of jewellery, accessories, house wares and letterpress cards, will discount select inventory from 15-50 per cent. Choice finds include calendars and agendas at 25 per cent off, Erin Templeton bags at 20 per cent, Cokluch leather bags at 30 per cent and all holiday items discounted to half price. Iconic British footwear brand Dr. Martens (391 Queen St. W., 416-585-9595) consistently reinvents its collection to boast a dizzying array of styles, fabrics, and finishes beyond its classic eight-eye boot. The shop opens Dec. 26 for a marathon day of shopping from 9 a.m.–8 p.m.

Designer Meghan Kinney has a dedicated following for her locally-made creations both in Toronto and her three New York locations. Whether you’re a fan or new to her clean-lined, feminine designs, the one-day sale at her shop Meg (849 Queen St. W., 416-364-3983) is a chance to start or expand a collection. On Dec. 26 from 11 a.m.–7 p.m. all garments are 50 per cent off.
Fashion impresario Kealan Sullivan’s vintage empire continues its metamorphosis. On Dec. 27 and 28, Sullivan’s 69 Vintage (1100 Queen St. at Dovercourt) holds its most comprehensive sale ever. For the first time, the flagship location has a storewide sale of 50 per cent off everything, while the Bloordale location at (1207 Bloor St. W.) prices its entire inventory of fur, coats, boots and holiday dresses from $5-$30 for a super year-end blowout until Jan. 1. Find a super selection of sparkly sequined pieces to welcome the new year. Jewellery is excluded from this sale.
Oliver Spencer and Fred Perry and (962 and 964 Queen St. W., 647-348-7673 and 416-538-3733) are both open Boxing Day with half off their British heritage-styled collections. At Oliver Spencer, you’ll find well-tailored menswear, classic lambswool crewnecks and gentlemen’s accouterments. At Fred Perry, find the iconic laurel leaf sportswear for both men and women from the brand that celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. Hours are 10 a.m.–7 p.m.
New kid on the block gravitypope (1010 Queen St. W., 647-748-5155) is open from 10 a.m.–7 p.m. on Dec. 26. The one day only Boxing Day offers are said to be a mix of special in-store deals that should run across its three floors of men’s and women’s designer clothing and accessories.
Shoe and accessories boutique Brodawka & Friends (1114 Queen St. W., 416-893-0173) puts its entire shoe and bag collection on sale with 30 to 50 per cent off the price of its regular collection and discounts of 15 per cent off its best selling men’s and women’s shoe designs. Over tea and homemade cookies, shop the store’s mix of stylized flats, heels, and booties rendered in a multi-coloured palette, or peruse the men’s collection consisting of an updated approach to traditional menswear classics from loafers to oxfords. Store hours Monday-Saturday are 11 a.m.–7 p.m. and Sunday noon–6 p.m.
Apply a 20 per cent discount to all merchandise including sale items at The Future of Frances Watson (1390 Queen St. W., 416-531-8892). Open Boxing Day from noon–7 p.m., the shop carries limited quantities of each brand, so shop early. Bargains include 20 to 40 per cent off everything. Shop for New Year’s Eve dresses at 40 per cent off, and pick up items from Fortnight Lingerie’s new collection on this deal. The sale continues through Dec. 31.
Boxing Day started Christmas Eve at Jonathan+Olivia, (49 Ossington Ave, 416-849-5956) but there will be still bargains to be had when the shop opens 11 a.m.–7 p.m. on Dec. 26. Get discounts of up to 60 per cent off all J+O’s covetable men’s and women’s F/W 2012 merchandise, although some exceptions apply to carryover items and pre-spring arrivals. The treasures at Trove include, denim, footwear, clothing, jewellery, and accessories from desired global brands. All shops will be open from 10 a.m.–6 p.m. For Boxing Week, the deals continue, starting at 15 per cent up to half price.
From Dec. 27–Jan 2, Tabula Rasa (745 Broadview Ave. 416-465-4450) offers 25 per cent off its complete collection of on-trend labels including the store’s own collection of recycled vintage by owner Jennifer Park.
