Deal Junkie: Four Seasons auction!

In light of the Four Seasons’ imminent transformation into the New Residences of Yorkville Plaza, literally everything and the kitchen sink is going on the block at this week’s auction of assets from the former hotel at the corner of Avenue Road and Cumberland. Once home to many a celebrity and the stomping ground for Toronto’s high society, the opulent hotel boasts a massive inventory of over 15,000 items for sale. From the reception areas, to restaurants, to banquet kitchens and 400 guest suites, there will be luxury furnishings, crystal chandeliers, art, antiques and collectibles, grand pianos, flat screen TVs, hotel linens, and cordon-bleu kitchenware up for sale in separate lots over the three days. Home renovators can pick up wooden crown moldings, spa bathrooms, marble vanity fixtures, and walk-in showers. Collectors can find dinnerware, flatware and champagne buckets by the dozens. Even the hotel’s 20-foot onyx bar is up for grabs. Public preview times are May 29-30, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. The auction runs May 31-June 2, beginning at 9 a.m. each day.
