Danger: cheese everywhere
2200 Yonge St.
This gimmicky-named cafeteria-style restaurant (and recently opened Sherway Gardens food-court stall) puts an emphasis on local products, with bread coming from Toronto’s Fred’s Bread and the cheese supplied by Saputo. With half a dozen options to choose from, favourites include the funghi ($9), with Swiss cheese and truffled oyster mushrooms on parmesan encrusted bread, and the all-day breakfast ($6.50), with aged cheddar and a cracked egg on French white bread. And there’s even something sweet: The s’more sandwich ($7.50) is made using slices of graham and brown-sugar-crusted brioche to accompany the marshmallow and milk chocolate filling and fresh whipped cream. Sorry, no cheese in this one.
