For the Royal Burger
710 Kipling Ave.
Granted, getting there might not be very convenient—Ante Ostojic’s temple of grilled meats is in southern Etobicoke, just off the Gardiner—but extended travel time will allow you to work up the appetite you’ll need to devour the Royal Burger ($10.49). Made using a full pound of marbled ground pork and veal, this hefty concoction is loaded with all the standard toppings, plus a generous dollop of house-made roasted red pepper and goat-cheese sauce. The offshoot of Ostojic’s butcher shop (which opened in the late ’90s), Royal Meats is a haven for carnivores, and is the closest thing this city has to Balkan-inspired fast food.
