For the barrel-aged cocktails
487 Adelaide St. W.
Open since spring of 2012, Len Fragomeni’s basement cocktail bar is as impressive as you would expect from the head of the Toronto Institute of Bartending (which also operates on the same floor). Black-tie-adorned servers glide across the low-lit room with a confidence that presumably comes from having one of the city’s best booze reserves at their backs. The bar has over 400 different bottles of liquor, with extensive selections of vodka, gin, tequila, rum, and, of course, whiskey (SpiritHouse boasts over 100 different varieties of bourbon, scotch, Canadian, Irish, and blended whiskey). For something extra special, the bar is known for its barrel-aged cocktails, created in-house and lovingly presented in a small bottle which you can take home as a memento.
