What we’re looking for:

Timely photos and videos documenting something that’s happening in your neighbourhood—this can range from a breaking-news development to a peculiar/humorous sighting. The important thing is that your contribution reveals new information about your neighbourhood and gives our readers a street-level view of a particular occurrence. And timeliness is key—our website is updated several times every day with new stories, so a submission documenting something that happened a week ago is of considerably less value to us than a submission showing us something that happened less than an hour ago.

What we aren’t looking for:

-Event-listings notices—these should be directed to our listings-submission email addresses, which can be found on our Masthead & Contacts page.

-Personal essays/opinion pieces/rants

-Photos/videos that serve a purely aesthetic purpose, with no journalistic context
