While Weezer never fails to make an annual stop in our town, we have not been privy to one of the two-night/full-album shows they have performed elsewhere. These stops see the band roll into a given city for a double header, playing their hugely popular 1994 debut The Blue Album one night and 1996 fan favourite Pinkerton the next. But after last year’s stellar performance at The Tragically Hip’s Downsview Park show on Canada, this year the band returns to our neck of the woods for another one-night-only appearance: Sept. 14, at Casino Rama .

THREE-BAND BEACHER
One of the strongest bills of the year takes place at Echo Beach this Thursday (July 26). Headliners The Sam Roberts Band are touring behind one of their strongest albums, Collider , an LP that showcases both Roberts’ varied songwriting style and his band’s ability to cover a vast sonic terrain. Joining them are London arty folk-rockers Bombay Bicycle Club , whose third LP, A Different Kind of Fix , hit Top 10 in the U.K. last year and spawned five singles. Rounding out the bill are The Jezebels , a four-piece dance-rock band from Sydney whose own 2011 LP, Prisoner , won the Aussie version of our Polaris Prize .
