Back in the saddle again

Patti Smith and Sam Shepard mounted just one brief production of the play they co-wrote, Cowboy Mouth, in New York in the spring of 1971. After reading Smith’s 2010 memoir, Just Kids, the co–artistic directors of Heart in Hand Theatre were inspired to produce the play in Toronto. We asked co-producer/star Jessica Huras and co-star/Broken Social Scene member Jason Collett to take us through the emotional twists and turns of its two characters, Slim and Cavale.
