Toronto went Linsane (ahem) Tuesday, when New York Knicks point guard and kid phenom Jeremy Lin made his T.O debut. The always fickle Twitter reaction vacillated between exaltation and outright dismissal, and Lin played to both—sloppy in the early quarters, he rallied with a game-winning three-pointer, earning cheers from a Toronto crowd as he shut down the Raptors.
@TAAdownes New York Knicks getting off their jet at Pearson! Let the Linsanity begin.
@SuicidePass Linsanity has left me glad hockey isn’t a huge deal in the States. Really limits the terrible name-based punnery.
@torontomike This Linderella hype is Linsane! Total Linsanity! His story is beyond Linteresting, it’s Lindelible!
@KardiacKid29 In other news, us black people would like to trade Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne to the Asians for Jeremy Lin.
@PMakuch In my comfy home as I watch #linsanity fall apart. Did I mention he can’t shoot and doesn’t play defence?
@Paul__Jones Jeremy Lin doesn’t go left very well. Toronto has recognized and has played him accordingly.
@RBK_Goalie1 How many have drowned from jumping off the Jeremy Lin boat?
@Konfucius18 We’re not worthy! I can’t believe Jeremy Lin single-handedly destroyed the lead!
@unatronic That moment when all the Asians at the ACC stood up, and Lin sank a stone-cold three-pointer to win it and we all lost our shit. #Linsanity
