It’s officially official: today, Bixi Toronto finally announced the details of the bike-sharing program’s expansion east and west. And there’s especially good news for residents of the Annex, who are getting five new stations, and the Distillery District, who are getting their first.
Starting Nov. 26, a total of 17 bike stations are moving, according to Bixi’s press release—while 10 needed to be removed for the sake of snow removal, another seven are also being shuffled around to help expand the coverage area 50 per cent, from 8 km² to 12 km². They’re also adding 24 new docks to their Spadina and Phoebe station.
Here is The Grid‘s map of all of the changes. (Stations being moved are marked by a red marker; those stations’ new locations are marked in green; Spadina and Phoebe’s is marked in aqua.)
