How’s that massive construction project going at Union Station? This morning, the media got a close-up look at the progress they’ve made so far.
It’s been over a year since we last caught a glimpse of the massive revitalization project happening at Union Station.
The $640 million project will turn the area below Toronto’s biggest transit hub into an expansive retail centre, while adding greater capacity for passengers and pedestrians. It’s currently on schedule for completion in 2016.
This morning, the media was invited to throw on hard hats, goggles, and boots, and head underground to survey the work that’s been done on the two new GO concourses, the lower retail level, and the completed VIA Panorama Lounge. Though it still looks very much like a subterranean construction site, the new concourses are beginning to take shape.
