Which headline’s “very misleading”?

Do you mean the one (“Delays, folks.”) right above the text that explicitly explains that these are only passenger-activated alarms? Or the title of this page, “TTC subway delays from Passenger Assistance Alarms this year, so far”? I figure that pretty much anyone who’s ever taken the subway in Toronto realizes that there are plenty of reasons a train can be delayed that have nothing to do with a passenger hitting the alarm. Right?

And what exactly would that incompetence be? There other issues that would affect the schedule: mechanical issues including, but not limited to: fires at track level resulting from garbage igniting from electrical sparking, security issues in a station, problems with switches at track level, weather affecting electrical supply and many others. I would suggest you come out from the safety of your screen name and get your facts right before posting such ignorant comments.

Very misleading headline. The “passenger assistance alarm” delays are not the only ones that happen. Of course, the TTC wants to play these ones up.. because it directs attention away from their incompetence.

Funny you should say that – I came across a library book a few years back about some of the most hilarious incidents on Vancouver transit, written by the bus & subway drivers & i’ve always thought the TTC could do something similar to raise funds. It may be the only way we’ll ever get a laugh out of them . . .

It’s everyone on the “smart” diet. Cup of coffee and no food in the morning before flying out of the house/condo/apartment and into a crowded subway. Low blood sugar means you’re butt is on the floor and everyone is late for work. Is it so hard to pop a cookie or a muffin in your mouth?

The TTC has one of the worst services I have ever seen! It is basically a two line subway, and it breaks everyday during the rush hours. Also, it’s unbelievable that some morons activate the PAA just because they feel sick!! C’mon, these guys should get a big fine, they are affecting hundreds of people!
