After observing on-duty firefighters “posing with a bevy of nubile sycophants” at a Yorkville fire hall last Saturday night, the Toronto Sun’s Sue-Ann Levy penned a Monday-morning column suggesting that firefighters without enough to do could be a target for city hall cost-cutting. Offended firefighters Chris Linton and William McKee (among other supporters) took the bait and fought back on Twitter—to Levy’s delight.
@iainwith_2_eyes Did Sue Ann Levy really just call firefighters thin-skinned?
@Tedhealey Why my hate for the TO Sun burns hotter than the sun: Sue-Ann Levy.
@Chris_Linton @SueAnnLevy Normally I’d be offended, except you’ve already shown you have no idea what we are paid to do, and never will.
@SueAnnLevy @Chris_Linton Boo Hoo. Caught cozying up to fawning females instead of doing what you’re paid to do.
@WMcKeeL3888 @SueAnnLevy Your comments only reinforce your inept abilities as a journalist. The saying goes: “Consider the source.”
@SueAnnLevy @WMcKeeL3888 Boo hoo. Firefighters not only thin-skinned but have inflated egos. Instead of posing with fawning females, do your jobs.
@SueAnnLevy Firefighters in a knot about my column today. Q: Why are police and EMS not seen posing with a bevy of blondes? A: Cuz they’re too busy.
@DenzilMiW* Well said Sue! Those bimbos should be posing as Sunshine girls, not with firefighters.
@SueAnnLevy @DenzilMiW My thoughts exactly!!!
