Neil Young and Massey Hall—it’s the classic chocolate-and-peanut-butter pairing of Canadian music. After bowing out suddenly from a headlining appearance at last September’s Harvest Picnic in Dundas, Ont., the rock icon will be returning to our neck of the woods on Jan. 12, 2014 to perform at his favourite Toronto soft-seater theatre. The show is one of four Canadian dates Young will be playing next month to raise money and awareness for the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation (ACFN) Legal Defense Fund, to stop government and oil-company encroachment on native lands. (Learn more about the ACFN cause at www.acfn.com.) Oh, and did we mention Diana Krall is opening?
Tickets for the show—ranging from $55 to $250—will go on sale this Friday (Dec. 13) at www.livenation.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, and the Roy Thomson Hall Box Office; you can also try calling 1-855-985-5000.
And if you can’t score tickets, well, there’s always this:
