
The old Monarch Tavern (12 Clinton St. at Henderson) is going back to its pop-up roots by letting cooks, street vendors, and food truckers take over their kitchens every two weeks. Locals will remember that the bar served as the site of Zane Caplansky’s first smoked-meat operation in 2008, before he opened his own restaurant on College.
Right now, the kitchens are being run at night by the duo behind the Gourmet B1tches truck until Oct. 28, with a $10-and-under gluten-free menu including tamarind kiwi beef tacos, wings, and grilled cheese with banana mayo. See the full menu below:
