Reggie’s Old Fashioned Sandwiches (571 King St. W., at Portland) is all boarded up this morning and its signage has been removed from the window. The late-night restaurant opened in 2009 and has been a popular place since. We’ve emailed the shop and are waiting for a response to see what’s going on.

Update, September 27, 2012, 3:20 p.m.: Thanks to some Twitter help, we found out that the adjacent 2Cats Cocktail Lounge (569 King St. W. at Portland) is expanding into the Reggie’s space. An application submitted back in May for 2Cats to expand into the Reggie’s space was approved, but now the obstacle is having the city approve a liquor licence that will cover both the existing 2Cats property and the Reggie’s spot. The usual concerns about noise levels are raised as the club’s capacity will double. City council is meeting next week about the liquor proposal.
2Cats is owned by the same people behind Reggie’s, as well as Williams Landing, Joy Bistro, and South of Temperance, the latter which will be closing at the end of October to make way for a condo.—Karon Liu
