Paul Jenkins, the man behind The Royal Tree Beaver and the person responsible for the Thanksgiving pucks at Toronto Underground Market, is hosting a charity barbecue competition at his own house this Saturday.
Competition Backyard BBQ takes place in Jenkins’ Annex backyard and anyone can eat or compete by donating just $25 to Common Ground, a non-profit organization that helps adults with developmental disabilities earn an income, while learning how to run a small business.
CBBBQ takes places rain or shine (there will be tents), consists of three categories (meats, sides, desserts), and is BYOB—or BYO ingredients if you plan on competing.
It isn’t too late to sign up, so visit the website for more details, because barbecue is good. But barbecue for charity? Even better.—Rebecca Fleming
