After test runs with friends and family last week, the Toronto outpost of famed Momofuku Noodle Bar (190 University Ave. at Adelaide) opened today. This morning, a half-dozen people waited in line for the restaurant to open its doors at 11:30.
The Noodle Bar site has been updated with the food menu, drink menu (try the alcoholic slushy!), prices, and hours. Some essential details: The restaurant does not take reservations and everyone in the party must be present to be seated. If the 70-seat restaurant is full, names will be put on a waiting list and the parties will be notified by phone. Nikai, the second-floor bar that will be open temporaily tonight for dinner, will serve as a waiting room for diners.
Shōtō—the third-floor restaurant that will offer a 10-course, $150 tasting menu—is slated to open Saturday and is currently taking reservations online (the site has been slow due to an onslaught of traffic, so here’s an alternative site to make resos). The fourth concept, Daishō, is going through training mode this week.—Karon Liu
