Chef Jonathan Gushue of Cambridge’s Langdon Hall resort has been reported missing since Dec. 31. The Kitchener-Waterloo Record reports that Gushue was last seen in downtown Toronto on New Year’s Eve and his family had no contact with him since then. The police report notes that the 41-year-old husband and father of three children may also be going by the name Jonathan Herder.
Jessica Pearce, marketing and public relations coordinator at Langdon Hall, tells The Grid that Gushue did not show up for the restaurant’s New Year’s Eve dinner service. Chef de cuisine David Sider took over the service that night and will be handling the kitchen when it reopens Wednesday after a scheduled winter break for the resort.
“We hope that, with this news going out, and going viral and hitting the chefs’ community in Toronto, hopefully his whereabouts will be located so he can be back with his family and here at Langdon Hall,” she says.
Anyone with information about Gushue’s whereabouts is asked to call Waterloo Regional Police at 519-650-8500 ext. 2299.—Karon Liu
