Shortly after Keriwa Cafe chef Aaron Joseph Bear Robe announced his restaurant (1690 Queen St. W. at Triller) will be only open for one day of the week serving a 14-course, $300 tasting menu, the chef decided to go back to its more affordable a la carte format.
“The 14-course tasting menu is effectively dead,” he says. “We got feedback from people who say they just want us to be open and available. We don’t want to be an exclusive restaurant.”
So, as of now, the Parkdale restaurant is open once again Tuesday to Saturday for dinner service starting at 5 p.m. with a new menu that will be posted on its site (which is currently under construction). A smaller version of the tasting menu is available upon request.—Karon Liu
