A second location of the much loved Queen West cupcake shop Dlish has opened at Yonge and Yorkville, beside neighbourhood institution The Cookbook Shop. According to manager Verge Manuel, the new store will have a similar format to the flagship location: upwards of 23 flavours will be offered on a daily rotating schedule, with around a dozen different flavours available each day.
“Most places just have vanilla or chocolate bases and then different frosting flavours, but our cupcakes are much more distinctive,” he says. “For example, our coconut macaroon flavour is made with a coconut cake, and our maple walnut is made with a maple-syrup cake, so each flavour has a separate recipe.” Starting next week, the store will be decorating its cupcakes with a ghost theme, and will continue with seasonal decorations for Hanukkah and Christmas.
Cupcakes are $3 each, $17 for six, $33 for 12, and can be ordered online or over the phone.
