Throughout the last month, pop-up Come and Get It has been counting down to its last day (the restaurant officially closes on Oct. 25) at 170 Spadina Ave. (at Queen). Luckily, there’s now a different countdown date: Nov. 1, the day when the restaurant will be moving into its permanent home at 676 Queen St. W. (at Euclid), replacing the soon-to-close Mavrik Wine Bar.
Owner Jon Polubiec, who just signed the new lease, says the general theme of the menu will stay the same with its sandwiches, salads, and poutines, but there will also be a few more items he’s currently working on. “Instead of focusing on quantity, we can now focus more on quality, with specials and premium ingredients, as well as catering,” he says. Lunch service will continue to offer takeout, and there will be a few chairs inside for sit down eating. At night, the restaurant will serve liquor and a snack-sized menu.
If all goes well, the new Come and Get It will be open near the end of November after a slight reno.—Karon Liu
